Training

Performance training is a specialized approach to conditioning that builds the strength, control, and endurance dancers need to perform at their highest level. It blends strength and mobility work with technique-focused drills that directly translate to improved jumps, turns, extensions, and overall artistry. By targeting the specific demands of dance, performance training helps reduce injury risk, correct movement inefficiencies, and unlock new levels of power and precision on stage or in the studio.

FAQs

What's the difference between rehab and performance training?

Rehab focuses on a specific diagnosis, condition or injury. Performance training focuses on enhancing a dancer’s strength, mobility, endurance, and technical precision to improve artistry and prevent future injuries.

How is performance training different than personal training?

Personal training focuses on general fitness — building strength, endurance, and conditioning. While this can help dancers, it doesn’t always address the unique demands of dance or the risk of injury.

Performance training with a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in dance medicine goes deeper. It combines medical knowledge of the body with a dancer’s perspective, ensuring training is safe, targeted, and specific to the movements dancers need most. The goal isn’t just to get stronger, but to improve technique, prevent injuries, and unlock your full potential in the studio and on stage.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, venmo, credit card, and HSA/FSA cards.

Can I have a group larger than 4 people?

We keep small groups small for improved technique correction and hands on assists that align with the groups' goals. If you are interested in group training of larger than 4 people, please contact us.

What if I don't use all of my sessions before they expire?

Sessions expire to encourage you to stick with your training for maximal progress. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide refunds for unused training sessions and they are non-transferrable.

What is your cancellation policy for Performing Training?

We require a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel training sessions to avoid being charged a cancellation fee of $25 per person. We understand emergencies happen - these cancellations will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
